Since I'm in the habit of keeping all my friends and family in the loop, I thought that I would take a moment and dial you in on one or more of my newly created projects. I know that it might not be the most exciting news that you'll ever hear, but I like sharing my web work with both of my web readers. Isn't that what a blog is for? I thought so. So here, we, go...
Since I've recently gotten married a strange and funny thing has begun to occur. I'm more interested in home decor than I have been in the past. I guess that it's probably something that has to do with having a home to put that kind of stuff in. With women I think that they call it a nesting instinct. With guys I think they usually call it gay; which is really unfair, I think. Its just that I'm in touch with my feminine side. Regardless, that is what I'm going with. Plus there are lots on manly home furniture products. For instance there are TV stands for big screen TVs which are a "man thang". So I don't feel too bad about getting into the home decor frame of mind.
Since I've been looking at more and more home furniture products and designs I decided to start another blog about them. I could post the information here, but this is more of a generalized blog about things happening in my life and my thought processes. I wanted have one that was more focused around home furnishings where I wouldn't be boring my audience, both of them, with stuff that they cared nothing about. However, since I've had a bit of a change of perspective myself in recent months I thought that I should share about my new home furniture blog with anyone who is interested in that kind of thing. I do have a number of married friends. Not that it is a requirement to be married for you to have this as an interest, but I'm proof that it can totally help you pay more attention to end tables, lamps, and which styles will go well together (and which one will not). You can go to Home Furniture Decor - Thoughts & More to check it out if you like. Feel free to give any feedback you want to - comments are always good even if they are critical. I would love your input on anything from canopy bed curtains to a makeup vanity. So don't be shy if you have something you wish to share about my interior design thoughts :)
I'll probably be around a bit later to post a bit about college football since today is a huge day in that sport. SO until then...
Be good, and if you can't, at least be good at it ;)

Thanksgiving Postmortem
Well, Thanksgiving is now over, and we are forced to realize the cold hard facts here at Loopness. We all ate too much, and overindulged until we could indulge no more. Then we woke up and did it all over again. Lots of sleep was needed to overcome the glorious day of excess. The damage to our cholesterol counts aside in the very back of our consciousness, it was a really great day. The cheescake that I made was a big hit with Jana's family. There was even a request for me to make another one for an upcoming birthday. This was probably the same person who ate 3 slices of it that day! Of course, I mean, really who could blame them? Have you ever had that cheesecake recipe? If you have then you know that, "Gram's Cheesecake" as we affectionately call it, can be insanely addictive. In fact, I believe that if the a previous Surgeon General (Mr. C. Everett Koop) were to try it he might release a statement that it is as addictive as heroin. OK, maybe that is being a little extreme, but even so, I'm not completely convinced that it is too extreme. It's good, and that is an understatement of ridiculous portions (the portions pun was thrown in for Dad).
The evening was a good one as the Longhorns survived an inspired Texas A&M team that fought really hard for all 4 quarters. The buzz around the sports world is that young Colt McCoy (see how I did that - working in the name of the last guy to play QB at Texas in the same phrase with the current QB - nice huh?) may have just catapolted himself into 1st place in the Heisman race (wow - puns, wordplay, and rhymes - I'm on a roll here). It was a stellar performance for sure. I'm still not convinced that it wasn't A&M's defense that made him look so good, but fair is fair and the Horns' defense made A&M look pretty good too.
Tomorrow is a big day. Rivalry day for Florida and Florida State. Looking forward to 2:30 CST :)
Be good,a nd if you can't, at least be good at it ;)

Happy Thanksgiving To All!
Happy Thanksgiving everybody! (to both of you who look at this blog) It crossed my mind that I'm a pretty poor blogger these days. At least, when it comes to blogging about generalities of my life here at loopness. I've been spending so much of my time working on Internet Marketing that my blogging efforts go towards my other thirty plus blogs rather than my first and oldest one. Like usual that is something I hope to change in the near future, but I'm not sure that I'll be able to discipline myself enough to turn that hope into a reality. I intend to try though.
I'm not sure that I have enough time to really bring everyone up to speed on what's been happening in my life these days. I need to get some sleep before I head out to Thanksgiving dinner with my in-laws. If I go to sleep right now I might be able to get in a good 4 or 5 hours of rest, but I'm not sure I'll be able to accomplish that either. So much to do in such a limited time frame. I think that we should vote to get more than 24 hours in a day. That might help me fit it all in. Of course, odds are that it probably wouldn't.
I will take a few quick minutes to give you an update on my latest project. It's another website that I'm trying to get up and running. I decided to try my hand at putting together an article directory. Something similar to Infobarrel, HubPages, or really any of the online article directories but not so large initially. It will be a place for folks to submit their content for free, and I have a number of writers that will be doing some guest posting. They are mostly friends and acquaintances from the online world. They are bloggers for the most part. If you would like to check it out you can find it at Info Auger Articles (an auger is like a drill bit - so the idea was a site where you can drill down to bring information up for your use). In teh coming weeks you should see articles in most of the categories which rage from home decor and technology to miscellaneous topics. If you want to be a writer there just visit the Info Auger site and contact me via the Contact page.
It was good talking with you again. I look forward to doing it more in the future. The future has more time available right? LOL I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
Be good, and if you can't, at least, be good at it ;)

Friend's New Blog
Just a real quick note here. I know that I haven't been updating my Loopness blog enough lately. I'm always so busy and behind it seems. I'll keep trying to get back and post more though. It's just that my other blogs consume so much of my time these days. Then when you add in the legal battle and trying to find time for friends and family, it just seems like there are never enough hours in a day and even if there were I couldn't stay up that long.
So an old college buddy of mine Bennie Fred started a blog just the other day and he was telling me about it. He really likes that FTA stuff and decided to blog about it some. FTA is short for Free To Air. FTA is basically a satellite system that allows you to receive satellite TV signals from major companies like ABC, CBS, and NBC. These companies put out the signals for free "over the air", and thus you get the Free To Air system. It's pretty cool stuff. Check out Future FTA Receivers World for more information on the systems and what you can do with them. It's a new site, but there will be more information as time moves on.
I'll try to get back around and talk a bit more. I hope to get my head above water sometime soon :)
BE good all...

Report: Bush surveillance program was massive - Yahoo! News
I knew it. OK, I didn't KNOW it, but I had one of those gut feelings that you get when you suspect someone or some entity is lying to you. In this case the Bush administration just decided that they knew better than everybody else - including our founding fathers - when they circumvented the law to fit their desires.
Will anyone do anything about it? I mean something other than put a committee together to talk about it. I mean hold someone responsible. I would feel better if there was at least a scapegoat. Where is Ollie North when you need him? Apparently, this Bush administration didn't have anyone with that much character and backbone. Someone to stand up and say I take responsibility for this. Shoot, the Ex-Vice President even feels he is above the law and never goes to court when he is subpoenaed. Which is fine, except, if you or I did that we would go to jail for contempt. Why are there two sets of laws in this country - one for the rich and powerful and one for the rest of us? I thought there was something about "of the people, by the people, for the people...". I guess that we need a Clinton to help us with the definition of "people"...

The Continual Update Process
Life is always in a constant state of flux. Things are always changing. Change is the ONLY constant I can find and that, my friends is truly ironic and possibly paradoxical.
So we are forced to change just to survive. We should find, at this point in humankind's history, nothing at all shocking that the old axiom holds true - the more things change, the more they stay the same - that sameness is change. No this is not just a fun word game. It is a thought process taking shape before your very eyes. A free stream of consciousness evolving right before you, and it is no different than all the times it has happened before - except it is one of the fist times for me, so it makes it change from my perspective.
Last time I posted, I was talking about all the issues I was having getting sites indexed in Google. Well funny thing, as soon as I published that post my sites got indexed. The reoccurring theme - change. So, I'm hoping that as I continue to post and try to get my sites indexed in the search engines that so swiftly decide my future within the Internet Marketing realm that things will stay the same, at least for a little while. Or conversely, I'll hope that they change so that the current change I so enjoy will stay the same.
Regardless, I hope you enjoy reading my new blog that I've just gotten up and running. It is called BBQ Smoker Thoughts and it is all about BBQ and the pits we cook it on. I've got a couple of posts up already, with more to follow as is my normal method of operation, or MO (I really didn't want this to be confused with the state of Missouri). So far you can read about natural gas grills and propane grills as a starter. I'll be discussing more and more on my favorite meat preperation method - smoking - in the coming days. Until then, enjoy!

New Blogs to index
As I work toward my goal of gaining financial freedom, I find that more and more challenges pop up each and every day. As I learn the tips & tricks - the snares & traps - the INs & OUTs of Internet Marketing, I learn that consistency is almost never something I encounter consistently.
One of the first steps to having a successful website or blog is to write a solid, relevant content piece that gives the reader value. I almost always try to do this, unless I'm testing a theory of one kind or another. Once you have that step accomplished you have to get Google to index (or look at your site and keep it in their database) your content. If that doesn't happen then no one will ever find you.
This is easier to do with a domain that you purchase than with a free blog platform. However, not all of us have the needed cash to spend on domain registrations and we must use a free platform. It kind of puts us poor folks on a tougher road (like we weren't there to begin with) when attempting to make a living online.
Recently I've been trying to get a furniture blog of mine indexed, and Google just won't help me out for some reason. It's not a spam blog, for sure. I don't have any ads on there at this point. Just a blog to talk about my furniture choices. It seems like no matter what I do I can't get it indexed by Big G. Not sure why. Hopefully talking about it will do it some good.
I hate being frustrated sometimes.

Time For An Update
Things have changed since I last posted. I'm now a married man. Although things aren't all that different it feels really nice. All the days leading up to the wedding people would ask me questions like "Are you nervous?" or "Are you scared?". I kept telling them that I was excited but not nervous or scared. Even though it hasn't been quite a week yet and I know there are lots of challenges ahead, I'm happy we made the decision to get married. For someone who put it off for 35 years I find being married a comfort and a thrill more than anything else. I know it's not all roses and laughter, but I chose wisely and married the most wonderful woman in the world so I don't worry about all the other stuff. Being married to her is the best thing ever.
Now that the ceremony is behind us, it is time to get back to work. Time to get back to the grind of building websites and promoting them. The clock is ticking. There is only so much time to build a life with this beautiful woman and I'm going to work on it non-stop until I get it accomplished. With that in mind I wanted to mention a new site I noticed about wall clocks. Check it out if you feel so inclined. I use my wall clock to keep track of the seconds that fly by as I try to build a great new chapter in my life.
Till next time,
E

What I Have Been Working on Lately?
Since my engagement things have been pretty busy, even without being employed. Note that I didn't say I wasn't working. I'm just not being paid for the work I do these days. At least, not yet. I hope this changes sometime soon. I put in applications every chance I get, even thought the idea of working for other people still doesn't feel right to me.
The work for the wedding (it's in 10 days now) has been keeping my days full. In fact, I put the finishing touches on our signature wedding drink yesterday. Unfortunately, the testing needed to figure out the correct recipe left the rest of my day pretty blurry. I think I put in the dog door that needed to be done, and I forgot to take and send the pictures to Dad of the house. You win some and you lose some I guess.
I've been trying to stay on top of my web projects, but I seem to be just keeping my head above water in that realm. One of my new projects is targeted to my furniture choices - which was brought about by my wedding plans and the furniture that we looked at to put in our home. Of course, with all that is going on these days, I haven't been able to add anything more than a welcome post to that site. But in coming months I will be fleshing (kind of a gross sounding word huh?) it out further, and make it a much better site.
I've also recently started playing around with hubpages, and found a few poker related hubs that I thought merited reading. If you are interested in checking them out here are the links: Success and Poker - Poker Life Lessons - Poker Plays - Poker Position They are good beginner articles on Poker and life and how the two complement each other.
Well, until I get back to the keyboard, I hope all is well with you. I may be married by the next time I get back to you.

Family History
Browsing around on the net turns up interesting things from time to time. Sometimes you find old friends. If you search for yourself the results can be rather eye opening. You never know what you might find. I know that I found my Internet footprint was much larger than I thought, hoped, or wished it would be.
Sometimes you find little gems. I found a paper my late grandfather co-authored back in 1960. With all the accomplishments he had through his lifetime it is a little disappointing that there isn't more about him floating around the net. This is something I hope to rectify in the future when life allows. So until then you can check out a small bit of his work here: Elliott S. Clifton
On a completely unrelated note there is a hubpage I found interesting for a couple of reasons, not the least of which is that it is about poker.
Enjoy!

Save the Internet - Another Net Neutrality Post
Save the Internet : Frequently Asked Questions
You have heard me rant on several other blog postings about the current danger the Internet faces in remaining a free medium for all to use. Mark my words, if we do not collectively stand up as a whole and refuse what is coming down the road, directly at us, in a few years time our mighty Internet will have gone the way of TV or Radio. Subscription based services which will allow you access based on how much you are willing to pay. Subscription based services which will ONLY allow you access based on the content you are willing to purchase. "Ohh, you want Google.com? Well that is going to cost you an extra $5 a month for that service because it isn't in our basic package of websites."

Update, Updates, And Well More Updates
Update, Updates, And Well More Updates
I've discovered some new blogs that are kind of interesting, and "might" be worth checking out (see caveat below). I find blogs to be interesting in the main because they can be completely worthless or some of the best reading you will find, and of course the bulk of them is mired in mediocrity. These would be those. So unless you are interested in corner TV stands or solutions to credit issues I would avoid them.

More Things Poker - Loopness
I've been fairly busy in the last few weeks and haven't had a lot of time to focus on the game of poker that I enjoy so much. In fact, I've been on a period of hiatus to let my frustration of bad beats and donkish suckouts subside from my memory and more than that from my emotions. At some point, I'm sure I'll return to the tables again. I always do.
As I was working on some of my web projects this week I came across a couple of poker related sites that you all should check out. I enjoyed reading them and I'm sure you will too. The first one will help you play a better no-limit hold'em game and has some good strategy tips and articles. The other one is more dedicated to poker news updates and will keep you in the loop when it comes to the game of poker and happenings around the table.
Check them out. You will be glad you did.
Until next time, be good.
And if you can't, at least be,
Good at it,
E

Life Changes - Loopness
So to keep everyone in the loopness of my life, there is a BIG update. As of February 22, 2009 I am engaged. That's right, on May 30 of this year I'm getting married to the love of my life. We're excited and looking forward to the wedding day with great anticipation.
I'm not sure that I did a very good job of contacting everyone that needed to be contacted and I probably hurt feelings along the way. I'm sorry if you found out from someone else because I didn't call you directly or I spent to long working on details instead of calling the people who really matter. I just wasn't aware of all the details involved in putting together a wedding, even a fairly small one like we are intending to have.
I'll have a site dedicated to our wedding ceremony and wedding party in the coming weeks for friends and family making the trek from out of town. That is provided that I can get the water heater issue resolved.
Till then,
E

New Blogs - Loopness
New Blogs
In my ever continuing quest to keep everyone in the "know" about my life that is Loopness, I wanted to update everyone on the new blogs that I'm working on starting or finishing - depending on the moment.
The next blog that looks like it will be functional sometime soon is dedicated to easy credit, or to the world of credit anyway. I hope to have many good resources available for anyone with credit questions. I hope to cover as many credit topics as possible from bad credit to credit applications. Dealing with credit issues can be so tough especially in today's economic climate. So I wanted to make sure that there was a resource, a free resource, for anyone in need. I know I've been in that position many times myself and the last thing you want to do is talk to anyone about it. At least for me, I know I was embarrassed about the situation I had gotten myself into. I wish there had been a credit information website back when I was in need. So that is a summary of why I am creating the easy credit for all blog.
After that has gotten a bit further along in the process I'll be turning my attention to another topic that I feel in needed by a majority of the folks in America today. I'll be turning my attention to inexpensive health insurance for the "average Joe" on up. So many of us today cannot afford the health insurance we so badly need. Seniors and those on fixed incomes need to be able to afford their prescriptions every month without having to spend hours dealing with a company that doesn't want to pay or wants to make the process so time consuming and tough that we just give up trying. I know that a little blog about affordable health insurance isn't going to change all these issues we face. I don't expect it to change anything really. I do, however, hope that we can find a way to make it better, or at least find the best available cheap health insurance for all income levels.
In the next Loopness post, I'll be giving an update on the true website projects I have in the fire.
So until then,
Be good.
And, if you can't,
At least be good at it ;)

Poker for Loopness
I have some new projects I'm working on these days. It looks like there is a lot of blogging in my future. The Loopness is now complete. When I started this blog I was a learner, now I am, well, still a learner. But I think I am coming along very well for being interested in becoming an Internet marketer for no more than 6 days. Poker, especially No Limit Texas Hold'em has been a passion of mine for several years now. I know that I learned the hard way and I want to give others the benefit of my experience with a special attention to online play, because, let's face it - that is where most of us play poker these days. So now if I want a way to help someone learn how to play holdem poker online for beginners I have an outlet for that. It's alive! I have created a monster - trust me with all the hours of research that went into learning SEO stuff - it is a monster. It's my new poker blog with some of the old curriculum from the "now defunct before it ever got up and running" Final Table Poker Academy (sigh). Anyway, now we give information away for free that we used to charge for because we can make more with Google and AdSense than we can hawking our real products - unless of course we get Google AdSense to sell the real products for us - but that is a different story altogether. This story is more about learning the game of online poker free over at howtoplayholdempokeronline4beginners.blogspot.com my newest creation/monster/addiction. Check it out if you like, or don't. I'll have plenty more blogs headed your way real soon. For instance, if you are no longer wet behind the ears to poker you may want to check out my full blown poker blog where we discuss philosophy and theory in depth. Where we discuss positive EV and what that means. Where we will break down whether or not you were playing cards or poker or just being the average run of the mill donk. Of course, we really haven't started to play cards or poker with that blog as it is nothing more than a basic word press site at the moment. Don't worry, we'll hit our 2 outer on the river and win it all :)
Everything comes full Loopness around here, so when it does expect you will be in the loop once again. Upcoming posts on my other blog projects in the next few days. Probably a post about the dangers of easy credit and how we need inexpensive health insurance for all people in all walks of life. And maybe even an update or to on my full blown web projects augamire.com and cliftonscientific.com
'till then,
Be good, and if yo can't,
at least be good at it ;)
